Happy: Have You Found Yourself Yet? - A Book by Amar Delon

Feeling unhappy of your state right now? Understand yourself and find out what you can do about it through Amar Delon's "Happy: Have You Found Yourself Yet?".

This book was recently launched at Ayala Center Cebu's Coffee Bean, Fully Booked branch last June 5, 2011.

The title of the book speaks much about its contents; defining oneself and managing the sadness caused by the hardships in life.

For people who are forlorn and cynic, I assure you that this book is way fascinating than hardcore emo music and thinner than the width of the sole of your black and white sneakers.
The book is sold for $16.99 and is available only at Amazon.com. Grab a copy now!

Amar Delon is like anybody else. He has encountered many predicaments in life that mad him feel so weary and sad. Eventually, he was able to cope up and is now very successful in his field.

He is an actor, director, screen writer, author and an international speaker.

Because he wants to help other people to become happy, he wrote a book about happiness and finding oneself.

Thus, the coming of "Happy: Have You Found Yourself Yet?".

New Game to Invade Facebook this February 2011

Hey everyone! How have you been? While many of us are hooked with the internet because of social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, and Plurk, we have forgotten to pay attention on thinking about our environment.

There has been so much raining the past few weeks and a couple of scorching hot days. It is because of Global Warming which is terribly destroying our planet. There is no reason to fret because from now on, you can help resolve this environmental problem by playing Facebook's newest game.

Yup! You read it right! Here's something new and exciting to watch out online- Alter Space! It is the first Filipino environmental awareness game in Facebook. It is developed by AboitizPower and it will be launched soon!

I am one of the many Facebook users who are waiting for the grand launch of the game. Let's reduce our carbon footprints and support Filipino works by playing Alter Space.

Catchy teasers right? Stay tuned for updates about the game here in Adventurouslei as I will be covering the revelation and opening of the game next month. Cheers!

Ke$ha's New Single: 'We R Who We R'

Ke$ha is vying to be on top of the hit chart next week as the release of her newest single is booming in internet music downloads and song burnings.

Entitled "We R Who We R", Ke$ha sings out how party-people feel being young and are able to rule night parties. The song mainly states how awesome it is to dance the night away, with Ke$ha singing on the chorus: "Tonight we're going hard/ Just like the world is ours/ We're tearing it apart/ You know we're superstars/ we are who we are."

While the song doesn't veer much from prior club bangers like "Tik Tok" and "Take It Off," the singer admits that "We R" is in part inspired by the recent rash of suicides among gay youth in America.

Yesterday, I created a video clip of Ke$ha's "We R Who We R". I uploaded it on youtube.com but only viewers outside the Philippines can watch it. To not make the long story short, vimeo.com saved my day. Here's the video clip :) Enjoy!

VMA Awards 2010 Complete List of Winners

The recently concluded MTV Video Music Awards was a bang! Tons of highlights and lowlights could be named but to make the long story short, here are some witty recaps of the event.

WINNERS
Lady Gaga was the ultimate winner for the evening with eight awards including the biggest award of the night- Video of the Year for her 'Bad Romance'. Justin Bieber bagged home the Best New Artist trophy and Eminem took home the Best Male Video award.

FASHION FINDS
What else is could be more interesting and exciting to wait for in awards night like the VMAs? Of course, the attires of the attendees.

Lady Gaga has made another eye-popping entrance in a Alexander McQueen look upon arriving at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards. After changing her look from the 'highness-ish' atmosphere, Gaga wore a weighty, black, spiky, architectural crown by Giorgio Armani.

Half way to the end of the event, Gaga turned heads (and I suppose, also turned noses) in her final outfit, a Franc Fernandez dress (plus boots, hat, and purse) cut together from slabs of raw meat. True meat! How heavy is that?
Gaga showed everyone that telling people you're not a vegetarian doesn't always make use of the mouth. And speaking of mouth, no one mouth-watered in the place but in the contrary, felt disgust with the rare type of attire.

PERFORMERS

The following are the list of artists who performed in the star-studded night.
Nicki Minaj and Will.i.am. - 'Your Love' and 'Check It Out'
Eminem and Rihanna - 'Not Afraid' and 'Love the Way You Lie'
Justin Bieber - 'Baby' and 'Somebody to Love'
Usher - 'DJ Got Us Fallin' In Love' and 'OMG'
Florence and the Machine - 'Dog Days Are Over'
Taylor Swift - 'You're Still an Innocent'

Drake, Mary J. Blige and Swizz Beatz - 'Fancy'
B.O.B. Feat.. Hayley Williams of Paramore - 'Airplanes'

Hayley Williams (Paramore) - 'The Only Exception'
Linkin Park - 'The Catalyst'
Kanye West - 'Runaway'

Taylor Swift made a debut of her new song 'You're Still an Innocent' . This song's lyrics talk about her feelings of embarrassment over the famous hijacking and forgiveness for the man who did it to her. Who would forget the incident of last year's VMAs where, pffft! - Kanye West interrupted the famous pop star's acceptance speech?

If you're looking for a copy of
the recently concluded 2010 VMAs, look no further. Here's an all out complete list of Winners from last night's live blogging.

Red Box Cebu

For quite sometime now, the rumor spreading like wildfire about Cebu to have  the most-loved place by kareoke-lovers is getting its way clear. Yesterday, Red Box opened its doors to all music lovers at the G101 Garden Level, Ayala Center ,Cebu.

Before that day, the media people were invited for a private sneek peek of the place.  We had the chance to savor the food and beverages Red Box offers and test & use the sound system and monitors. To make the long story short, here is a list of why Red Box should be visited by you with your family and friends always:

FOR EVERYONE
One doesn't have to be a singer to enjoy Red Box. You don't have to force someone to sing during the time of your stay in the place. Expect original music videos- watch or just listen.  Give yourself a break and bring your gadgets- there is free Wifi (perfect for bloggers-ehem*) In  other rooms, there is a billards pool and a poker table. The place fits to people of all ages.

FAST SYSTEM
Compared to the old way of selecting a song, (entering different and long digit combinations) Red Box requires you to only press one or two numbers to have your desired song selected. The guide/manual is easy to understand. Really fast!

ROOM UNIQUENESS
All the rooms in Red Box are different from each other. From carpeting to arrangement of seats & tables. From wall decor to room sizes. All is unique.

FOOD-FILLED
Feast yourselves with their delicious food from home-grown dishes such as Sisig, Lechon Kawali (with Fried Tofu),  Crispy Pata, Kilawin Tanigue, Calamares & Stir Fried Beef Tenderloin Tagalog to foreign-loved delicacies namely Crispy Spring Roll Trio, Buffalo Wings, Fish and Chips, Thai Style Grilled Beef Tenderloin, Charcoal grilled pork belly, Loaded Nachos, French Fries (one of my favorites), Garlic Rice, Plain Rice. And no, these are not all! Before you would contain your stomach with the ones I mentioned above, save some reserviors for the desserts! Of course, beverages are offered- all sorts of them. From soft to hard. What more could you ask for?

UPDATED
What's the usual query does one frequently ask when he/she is going to sing a song? It's "Is there 'Baby' by Justin Bieber?" or "How about Travie McCoy's 'Billionaire'?". If you're in a karaoke or music house that is not Red Box, the answer you'll get from the clerk would definitely be, the hurting word 'No'. When in Red Box, you'll get an affirmative response. Yep. One of the good things of Red Box is that, they update their database weekly. Yup! Weekly! Perfect for the youth and self-proclaimed youth! Haha!

Red Box is something you wouldn't expect to be seeing it outside. Once you get in the place, it'll seem like you're not in Ayala Center Cebu. You'll feel like you're in a five-star ship. Talking about the restrooms (I don't know with the boy's room), the area is well ventilated. There is an automatic tissue roller and there are enough sinks for beaus to do their face-retouches. There are about three toilet bowls inside it.

The clerks are very accomodating. They frequently ask what you need and want more. They are quick and presentable too. In every room, by its doors,  placed is a specialized phone. All you have to do is press 0 for a clerk to come in your  room to take your order. Really neat!

Before I'll end the post, here is the complete price-list in Red Box.
LUNCH HOUR (12:00 noon – 3:00 pm)
P299 per head
Inclusive of Lunch Buffet
Free Room Use during Lunch Hour

HAPPY HOUR (3:00 pm – 7:00 pm)
P199 per head
Inclusive of 1 Free Drink
Free Room Use during Happy Hour

PRIME TIME (7:00 pm – 12:00 mn)
P299 per head
Inclusive of 2 Free Drinks
Free Room Use during Prime Time
P399 per head on Fridays and Saturdays

AFTER HOURS (12:00 mn-4:00 am)
P199 per head
Inclusive of 1 Free Drink
Free Room Use during After Hours

Over all, the Red Box is, I say, a must-try karaoke house.  I personally like the interior of the place compared to the sound system. It's really something one can't expect to be looking at its entrance outside. If time permits you, don't hesitate to visit and try slacking at Red Box Cebu.

Support Zerobriant

Filipinos are genuinely talented people. Whenever a conversation is being done in line with Language and Arts,  one never misses to mention the nationality. We are truly world-class.

Before I continue with my profound advertisement of my identity, I have a query for you. Do you remember last year when I ask you, dear readers for help in voting a Filipino entry in a certain international shirt design contest? If you haven't or if you don't have any idea of such write-up of mine, read THIS (my old post) and get back here is you're done reading it :) Thank you.

Done? Wow! That was fast. Haha. Okay, so the write-up was short and so  as this.  To make the long story short, a good friend of mine, Sheila, chattered with me a couple of weeks ago about this guy under the pseudonym 'Zerobriant'. He's an excellent Filipino designer  who's been participating design contests. Like before, (as you've read in my old post) I'm asking for your help to make him win.
Zerobriant could be the first ever Pinoy to have a design used in Havaianas. That's his wish. His design is perfect for the hip footwear, it could possibly be taken :) If  his wish comes to reality, I will surely buy a new pair of Havaianas that has his design. Promise.

He once joined a design contest for charity. There were about 697 entries from around the globe. Only 10 entries were chosen as finalist. Down to 4 lucky winners received the prizes. He won in this competition.

This one is a total cutie. The design is really nice. It depicts a mother cat wearing a scarf for the weather is cold. At first glance and in deep sight, you could see the details the picture has that composes the overall soothing impression of the shirt. A person may give this to anyone on special occasions like Christmas, Birthdays, Valentines Day and others.

Enlisted below are all the links of his contest entries. Click and vote :)
There are other contests that Zerobriant entered but the votations just had its closing. Let's hope for the best of the results and his work. GOD SPEED to him. We hope to know and see more Filipinos flourish in good ways internationally. Mabuhay Philippines!

Visit Zerobriant Designs Fan Page in Facebook. Go to his world and know him more. Check out his official website www.zerobriant.com

DJ Nico Devroe of Belgium

I was rushing things online when I saw a newly posted blog entry by my friend in a social networking site. That blog entry caught my attention because of its title "DJ Training". With full love for music, I didn't mind the time and hit the link to which lead me to the page of his blog entry. I read along.

It said everything about the poster seen above. I startled. Know why? I didn't know DJ Nico Devroe is such a famous Disc Jockey. I have met DJ Nico D. once  at Tiki Bar, Big Foot where my friends and I frequently slack and eat dinner. There was this time wherein my friend bought a brand new DLSR. Since we were out, we went to different places to try out the new camera. We took our dinner at the Tiki Bar where incidentally DJ Nico D. was there.

I myself am a camwhore and an aspiring photographer. Tiki Bar, that time, observed no event but as always, displayed good lights and good music. I borrowed my friend's DSLR where I took a couple of pictures of the sceneries- the beach, the sky, the lights etc..

It was my first time to see a real foreign DJ that made my mind go up and down. I was so into taking pictures of the DJ's gadgets and him doing his thing, and so I did. Of course, I didn't made the night pass through without the DJ and Me having a picure. LOL. And oh, did I mentioned that he gave me his calling card; making me add him up in FB to tag him in the pictures I took in the Bar? Wahhahha! :P

*My friend didn't uploaded all of the pictures I took in his FB album. He choose only 3 of the pictures out of 15 that I took that night.*

That's the reason why I startled. I didn't know DJ Nico D. is a famous Disc Jockey outside Asia! Wahahah! I was really shocked when I read my friend's blog entry about the event that DJ Nico D. will be sharing his thoughts, experiences and most especially the basics of his work for free. I didn't miss edthe chance! Really! :D

Back to the main topic, I was able to attend the DJ Training. The staff in iCenter at Crossroads were there talking to him when I arrived. We all talked and hurrah! DJ Nico D. remembered the incident when I took pictures of him and whatsoever that happened (the story above)

It was truly nice meeting him again. The event went very fun and informative.

Happenings like this are really exciting.
