Sinulog Festival

If you have been to the Philippines on the month of January, for sure, you have heard about the Sinulog Festival. It may seem unfamiliar to some but the affair is one of reasons why many foreigners come to the province of Cebu after Christmas Season.




Sinulog Festival is the grandest and biggest celebration in the country. It is held every third Sunday of January in honor of Señor Santo Niño, the Child Jesus who is the patron saint of the whole province of Cebu. It traditionally runs in nine days - packed with religious practices and cultural activities.

The celebration mainly covers dancing on stage and at the streets focusing on certain themes that showcase the goodness of Santo Niño de Cebu. The yearly merriment marks histories with the catchphrase "One Beat, One Dance, One Vision" and the shout-out "Viva Pit Señor!".

People of all walks of life look forward to witness the festivity and the amazing miracles of the Holy Child Jesus.
