'Australia's Next Top Model' Host Announces Wrong Winner on Live Finale!

Yesterday, September 28, 2010, one of the huge crack incidents of this year happened. It was the moment when 'Australia's Next Top Model' host Sarah Murdoch announced the wrong name of the winner.

The finale of the hit Australian television show was aired live to millions of viewers. Sarah Murdoch announced that top model-hopeful Kelsey Martinovich was the new queen of the ramp defeating runner-up Amanda Ware.

A few moments later after Martinovich shared her short victory speech, Murdoch became silent and got shocked. She eagerly listened to her earphones where the producers communicated her; telling she said the wrong name.

"Oh my God. I don't know what to say right now. I'm feeling a bit sick about this," a stunned Murdoch said on the air as the entire audience and the contestants went silent. "I'm so sorry about this. Oh my God. I don't know what to say. This is a complete accident, I'm so sorry. It's Amanda. It was fed to me wrong." Murdoch astonishingly said.

"This is what happens when you have live TV folks, I'm so sorry, this is insane." Murdoch added.

Australia's Next Top Model Finale Fail

Martinovich graciously accepted her defeat after the correction Murdoch made.

"It has been so close and the lead kept changing," Murdoch tried to explain. "It was literally down to a couple of votes and we kept going back and forwards, back and forwards, and we ended up with Amanda as our winner."

The show ended with Ware walking on the ramp while credits rolled. Due to the error, producers offered to send both Amanda and Kelsey to New York to meet with Elite Model Management and also offered Kelsey a $25,000 consolation prize.

Things I want to do before I die

Hey Guys! After a bunch of blog entries about serious media stuff and techy talks, I wanna talk today about the things I wanna do before I die. I'm quite uncertain if I can do it all. LOL. You judge. After reading this, I wish you would list yours too and share it to me at angeliysama@yahoo.com.

I just thought of sharing this list out so you guys will get inspired to work hard in order for you to do really awesome stuff. Well, such stuff like:

17 Things I wanna do before I die
  1. Throw a huge party and invite everyone I love and care
  2. Attend a major sporting event.
  3. Go up in a hot-air balloon (sunrise/sunset) til morning
  4. Try having white-Christmas
  5. Be a member of the audience in a TV show
  6. Fall deeply in love -- helplessly and unconditionally.
  7. Travel to at least five countries outside Asia
  8. Experience skydiving
  9. Sing a great song in front of an audience.
  10. Spend a whole day reading a great novel.
  11. Set foot on each of the seven continents
  12. Be a model of a famous clothing line
  13. Travel through forests and mountains by train
  14. Be a host of a famous talk show for over two years
  15. Ask someone I've only just met to go on a date.
  16. Ride a speed jet with any love-one
  17. Model at least one fantasy themed-photoshoot
I want to let you all know to live without regrets. Don't stop dreaming. If you do, it's somewhat like- you're contented of what you have and what you are right now. If one stops dreaming or if one is contented of his/her current state, he/she has the possibility to not work. I mean, not do anything at all. Right?

I wanna hear from you! Share to me your top 10 or more things you wish to do before you die. Don't forget adding in the e-mail subject "Things I wanna do before I die". Interesting responses could be posted here and the sharer gets a special prize. God Speed!

Yeng Constatino Interview

Fans dominated the premises of Ayala Center Cebu's  The Terraces the night of September 18, 2010, Saturday. It was a bold proof of how Cebuanos strongly love the first 'Grand Star Dreamer' of Pinoy Dream Academy, Yeng Constantino.

A set of smashing performances by the young singing sensation, stirred up the audience from left to right in screaming and applauding. She was accompanied by her band, Morning Glory.

Who would not know her for the hit songs "Hawak Kamay", "Salamat", "Time In", "Sabihin Mo Na", "Galing ng Pinoy", and many others? It made Filipinos sing for real. Hawak Kamay ♫ ♪..

Yeng greets her fans who are watching her from the balconies
Her concert at the Terraces was  for free. Everyone in the mall could sit front row or even jump and run onstage. Even though there were a couple of guards near the stage, the some avid fans didn't wasted their chance. They went up the stage while Yeng was performaning and took a picture at her side. *Whew* Yeng laughed and the guards were on patrol then and there. It happened again, actually. It was really funny.

People strolling around mall stopped and stood still to their nearest balcony to have a glimpse of the star. Yeng was so energetic and true. After every song performance, she'd talk to the audience about herself, her experiences and some details of her songs.

About two media groups were allowed to meet and interview Yeng after her show: some bloggers from the Cebu Bloggers Society (CBS) and some writers from Sunstar Philippines.

Yeng, her bandmates and the media inside her dressing room
It was easy talking with her. She is very earnest, open and is kind. Talking with her is like chattering with my funny and a bit-boyish bestfriend. Haha. Don't get me wrong but she's really nice and pretty too.

Weeeee! Haha! Yeng and Muah =D
To open up, Yeng Constantino is personally, one of my favorite Filipino artists for I love her style in delievering songs. Every artists has his/her distinctive style, hers is raggae but mostly RnB.

Yeng plugged her latest album which is so unique compared to other albums of today  It is because the line-up of the album songs are all written and performed by Yeng, herself.  "Gusto ko kasi magiging known ako as singer-song writer. Ayoko 'yong singer lang." Yeng explained.

In our interview she elaborated that her songs are true- "Ang mga songs ko'y basically parang diary kaya lang may tune." Yeng said. True indeed. With the lyrics of her songs, it's obvious that it's from a certain diary because it usually tells simple Pinoy teen stories.

Interview Highlights with Yeng
Ang layo na ng narating mo. Any tip for talent hopefuls out there?
"Simple lang- just keep on striving hard to reach your dreams in life. Maabot natin lahat ng paragarap sa mundo mag sikap ka lang talaga. Do the best you can tsaka most importantly, don't ever forget to do it all for the glory of God."

Lakas ng energy mo on stage. Napapasayaw- at may sumayaw talaga sa song performances mo. Sinong inspiration natin ngayon? Haha.
"Well, meron passage sa Bible, ewan ko- nakalimutan ko- basta ang sabi 'Impossible para sa mga tao pero possible para kay God.' Sobrang inspired ako sa line na 'yan. Ako kasi Happy-go-lucky lang ako. Wala akong iniisip masyado. Pero pag may ginagawa ako, most importantly pag nag porperform na ako, si God ang lagi kong tinatawag. God is no. 1! Normal na tao ka lang tapos binibigyan ka niya ng kakaibang talento. Ibang klase siya. Gagawin nya lahat para sa'yo."

Dumagsa talaga fans mo sa stage.(kasi free admision at walang rails) Kumusta 'yong audience?
"Kahit kailan, ang taas talaga ng standard ng Cebuano audience. Super smart and Cebuano audience. Papalakpakan ka lang pag sobrang maganda ang show." *chuckles* "Sobrang saya ko dahil talagang nakita ko na na entertain ko sila. Isa to sa di ko kailanman malilimutan na performance."

Meron ka bang gustong sabihin sa mga fans mo dito sa Cebu? Message.
"Sobra ang lakas ng angas ng mga taga Cebu. My sarili tayong connection. Thank you so much po for watching me perform dito sa The Terraces. Talagang malaking tulong po ang pag tangkilik ninyo sa akin. Sana magkita pa tayo uli at sana di mawala o masisira ang portal na nag coconnect sa atin. Salamat talaga sa pagsubaybay."
Cebu Bloggers Society with Yeng Constantino. Yey!
Yeng is very happy to come back here in Cebu. Before we hugged goodbye, she opened up of how it is being in Cebu. "Nag e-enjoy talaga ako pag nandito ako sa Cebu. Tuwing tumatawid na 'yong bus sa napakataas na bridge, -'yong parang kambal na bridge, sumasaya talaga ako." She said and chuckled.

A very good friend of mine who is a blogger too was able to take full videos of each of Yeng's song performances that night. She uploaded it on Facebook so I can't share it to you. I searched in youtube to have you guys see the concert in motion (not just by pictures) and I found this short clip. Enjoy!

Intel Core Processors: Not Just Faster. Smarter

Did you know? The Processor or Central Processing Unit (CPU) is the most important part of a computer? It is because it controls everything what a computer / laptop / net book does. Let's talk about processors and the best one yet in the market.

The CPU is the brain of the computer. It is very significant that is why its specifications is one of the considerations a person must pay attention in buying gadgets that needs its presence.

Today, CPUs need to 'think' faster to match the multi-tasking habits of their users. From photo editing to picture uploading; from music downloading to video conversion; from social networking to pc gaming, etc. there is a big need for 2-3 year-old pcs to change.

New pc usages drive high performance pc needs- the ultimate reason why Intel introduced a new family of processors: Intel Core.

Aging pcs unfit today's usages- that is one big fact. With the product line of Intel launched last January of this year, who would have the chance to make a cup of coffee (that takes 5 minutes) while waiting for your computer to load?

There is always one perfect desktop or laptop pc for someone and to know what this is, you have to know who you are. Likewise in purchasing a processor. In choosing one, your decision should to be based on your needs and how you intend to use it. Friends, I re-introduce you to the breed that will lead:

Core i3 - Perfect for simple uses of computers such as watching videos, listening to music, and play games at the highest possible quality. This is the first type of the Core family.
Core i5 - Say goodbye to freezing even when you're doing multi-tasking at top speed. This second type of the Core family fits to bloggers and frequent computer users.
Core i7 - this third type of the Core family is best for techy people. It automatically speeds up when its users need extra performance.

It is vital that you invest in the best processor you can afford when shopping for your new computer because upgrading an old one is expensive and needs expertise. Choose Intel for it is smart.

Intel Core is smart because:
Core Strengths
  • Intel Optimal Performance and Energy Efficiency
  • Intel is a multi-tasking monster
  • Intel Core Processors have Intel HD Graphics
Core Technologies
  • Intel Turbo Boost Technology
  • Hyper-Threading Technology
  • 32 Nanometer Technology
Remember, only computers with the most powerful processors can make full use of energy and computer speed- therefore making yourself unproductive, productive or very productive.

Get yourself out of the old fashioned way of using outdated processors. Don't waste minutes, perhaps, hours of waiting. Use the fastest and smartest processor in the planet be be productive as you can be. Buy an Intel Core Processor now!

Starbucks VIA Ready Brew

Today marks a level shift-up for Starbucks Philippines as it introduces Starbucks VIA Ready Brew. For sure, Starbucks patrons and coffee lovers will flock to their nearest Starbucks branches to try out the new product.

What actually is this Starbucks VIA Ready Brew?
Starbucks VIA Ready Brew is the powdered version of Starbucks brewed coffees. It is available in three tastes namely Colombia, Italian Roast and Decaffeinated Italian Roast

Starbucks VIA Ready Brew is not instant coffee as you know it. It is made with 100% natural roasted Arabica Beans. It is rich and full bodied like the fresh-brewed Starbucks Coffee a Starbucks Patron loves.

I frequently slack at Starbucks and buy their delicious coffees. A while ago, I had the chance to partake in the Starbucks VIA Taste Test with a friend. The result? The new Starbucks VIA is truly of the same taste with the usual Starbucks brewed coffee I order during weekdays.

Trivia of Starbucks VIA
  • VIA is an Italian word meaning 'road'.
  • Aside from Colombia, Italian Roast and Decaffeinated Italian Roast, Starbucks VIA Iced is sold in the market but it has not yet arrived in the Philippines.
  • There is no one thing that differs our usual Starbucks brewed coffees with Starbucks VIA Ready Brew.

VMA Awards 2010 Complete List of Winners

The recently concluded MTV Video Music Awards was a bang! Tons of highlights and lowlights could be named but to make the long story short, here are some witty recaps of the event.

WINNERS
Lady Gaga was the ultimate winner for the evening with eight awards including the biggest award of the night- Video of the Year for her 'Bad Romance'. Justin Bieber bagged home the Best New Artist trophy and Eminem took home the Best Male Video award.

FASHION FINDS
What else is could be more interesting and exciting to wait for in awards night like the VMAs? Of course, the attires of the attendees.

Lady Gaga has made another eye-popping entrance in a Alexander McQueen look upon arriving at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards. After changing her look from the 'highness-ish' atmosphere, Gaga wore a weighty, black, spiky, architectural crown by Giorgio Armani.

Half way to the end of the event, Gaga turned heads (and I suppose, also turned noses) in her final outfit, a Franc Fernandez dress (plus boots, hat, and purse) cut together from slabs of raw meat. True meat! How heavy is that?
Gaga showed everyone that telling people you're not a vegetarian doesn't always make use of the mouth. And speaking of mouth, no one mouth-watered in the place but in the contrary, felt disgust with the rare type of attire.

PERFORMERS

The following are the list of artists who performed in the star-studded night.
Nicki Minaj and Will.i.am. - 'Your Love' and 'Check It Out'
Eminem and Rihanna - 'Not Afraid' and 'Love the Way You Lie'
Justin Bieber - 'Baby' and 'Somebody to Love'
Usher - 'DJ Got Us Fallin' In Love' and 'OMG'
Florence and the Machine - 'Dog Days Are Over'
Taylor Swift - 'You're Still an Innocent'

Drake, Mary J. Blige and Swizz Beatz - 'Fancy'
B.O.B. Feat.. Hayley Williams of Paramore - 'Airplanes'

Hayley Williams (Paramore) - 'The Only Exception'
Linkin Park - 'The Catalyst'
Kanye West - 'Runaway'

Taylor Swift made a debut of her new song 'You're Still an Innocent' . This song's lyrics talk about her feelings of embarrassment over the famous hijacking and forgiveness for the man who did it to her. Who would forget the incident of last year's VMAs where, pffft! - Kanye West interrupted the famous pop star's acceptance speech?

If you're looking for a copy of
the recently concluded 2010 VMAs, look no further. Here's an all out complete list of Winners from last night's live blogging.

Lapu-Lapu Island Hopping

"EVERYBODY settle your bags and luggages. The Ferry Boat is about to duck in the nearby port of Birhen sa Regla." the captain of the ferry boat announced to his passengers that signaled me and my family have finally arrived Lapu-Lapu City. It was already 8:00 in the morning when we got there. A 20 minute road trip followed from the Lapu-Lapu Sports Complex to Maribago Bluewater Beach Resort, after a solemn and short visit in the famous church of the place which was situated just across the port.

Passengers await for the ducking of the ferry boat

Excitement filled the air while we were riding the van. The vehicle was full of woes and wows from our speechless mouths because of the awesome views we have passed by. On our way to the beach not quite far from the sea, you can already feel the sour breeze of the air. You can see flocks of flying birds beautifying the mid air, making the sky look stupendous as it is not the usual view I see in our place. The presence of a herd of cows, a pump of ducks and a string of horse graced the green soothing grassland. It was like a taste of heaven in a wide field.

It was pouring that time. A few minutes after the long ride, we walked ourselves to Anemone Resort from Maribago Bluewater Beach Resort. We made a few preparations and check-ups of our things. Later on, we went to the nearby bay where our reserved boat was found. Three friendly men were present in the boat. One of them is the owner who led the directions while the other two were assistants in maneuvering the water transportation vehicle.

Moments later, the sky cleared up which was in very good in timing. We didn't wasted any time. My companions Uncle Tony with his wife Aunt Rose, Aunt Carol with his fiancé Uncle Svein and my young sibling Michelle hurriedly climbed up on the boat with the help of the three men and then we head off to our first destination: Hilutungan Island.

HILUTUNGAN Island is one of the islands in the Olango Reef which is protected by the government as fish sanctuary. This beautiful island is 20 to 30 minutes away from Mactan Island. This island is perfect for snorkeling and scuba diving due to abundant corals and tropical fishes. Within 3 to 7 meters you can have fun in feeding the fish, these tropical fishes are friendly that you can feed them with bread and swim together with. During lowtide the opposite side of the island is bare at low between Olango Reef at knee below you can walk between 5 islands along the reef.
We didn't had the chance to set our foot on the soil of Hilutungan Island but from afar, you can already say that the island is one awesome place to visit. Its entrance was lined-up by tourists that even looked even more made interesting and persuasive to visit. The operators of our boat told us that it takes around 20 mintues to travel from one island to another and to be able to visit the planned islands of our trips, we should be going. Next stop was Sulpa Island.

Sulpa Island
It was already 11:30 in the morning and we have reached the island but before we enjoyed ourselves with the view, we took our lunch. For the very first time, I was able to take my lunch in the middle of the sea. Several times I made my morning and evening meals in cases of traveling but never did I experience having the noon meal while on a boat floating at the middle of the sea. That was a fine meal. It was all specially prepared by Aunt Rose. Below are pictures of some of the delicious food we ate.

While our aunts and uncles prepared the meal, Michelle and I hooked up with our cameras and began taking pictures for the nth time. A small boat drew near to ours with around four men who rode in it. According to the owner of the boat we rented, Sulpa island is known as a good diving site. Many rough coral sands and shell vendors are found there. Speaking of corals and shells, the unknown men jumped into our boat. One of them clasped a small basket with wonderful natural sea ornaments!

The men introduced themselves to us. They elaborated that they are sellers of shells, corals and other sea ornatments. Their products are all natural and are sold at a very high price. My relatives had second thoughts in buying but I strongly told them that we need no souvenir for that trip or ours. The men gladly welcomed us to the island, slowly walked down themselves back to their boat and headed on to the next tourist and / or people they could deal with to buy their products.

After all the dealing and chit-chat about some facts about shells and corals with the sellers, we continued eating our lunch. We shared some to the owner of the boat and to his assistants as well. We were all satisfied with the meal. It was really terrific! The vegetable salad was awesome!

Moments after we finished cleaning the table, it rained. It was 1:30pm and we have to move on even though the rain is getting harder and harder and so we did. The fun fact about that moment was that our boat had to go straight against the hard rain and wind. It was totally fun! It seemed like we didn't have any roof for the whole day because before we arrived in Olango Island, all of us were very wet as if we danced in the rain. We headed ourselves to the next island: Olango Island.
