ON a SATURDAY

Today is Saturday. A weekend, which means a even more loaded day of work than the usual tasks on Monday to Friday. Guess what? I won't be attending four meetings and activities due to super hectic schedule but I've come to a moment where I have nothing to do (I can't remember how it happened) that encouraged me to blog out the latest about me and so here it goes..

TGIF Turns 1!
A month ago, Thank God It's Friday better known as TGIF celebrated it's 365th day of serving people with their delightful American beverages and food. The employees of the said food and beverage store situated in Ayala Center Cebu's the Terraces made dance and song performances.

Promos and great big deals and discounts were given as a treat to the costumers of TGIF that day. I wasn't able to see the store that time due to school work but my friends were present in the event and brought me home some awesome dishes and varied beverages (Thanks guys!).

You can visit the official website of TGIF by clicking here.

OC Training Sampler
I received a Post-It OC-in-Training Sampler Pack a few days ago from SM City Cebu's National Bookstore. It comes with Post-It pop up notes and Post-It Flags inside a cute and colorful bag.

Figure out what is OC and OC-in-Training and grab your very own sampler pack your by visiting and registering here. OC Sampler Packs can be redeemed at selected National Bookstores in the Philippines. Promo ends until supplies last. Get one now!

Nice isn't it? I've been using the Pop up notes and they're indeed helpful when it comes to reminders.

Reading the leaflet included in the Sampler Pack will inform you the three types of OC. I recommend reading it online for you to determine what type of OC you are.

Starbucks Limited Edition Planner 2010

Cheers! I've finally claimed one Starbucks Limited Edition Planner. Yippeee! For that, I can now create a review of the inside of this unique writing material that is good to hold memories and helpful reminders of our daily approaches.

By the way, I'm quite happy because our broken digital camera is now fixed which means I can now probably take some pictures for my upcoming blog posts. Going back to the main topic, above is a picture taken by yours truly. It's my very own Starbucks Coffee Limited Edition Planner 2010.

So what's great about this thing? Many. I may not be able to cite everything about it but I hope everything you'll know from here will encourage you to purchase Starbucks beverages to have yourself an original copy of the Starbucks Planner for the year 2010.

The planner cover comes in four different designs which is has a slight-rough texture quite the same to that of a felt paper. The first thing you'll see after opening the specialized red box is the planner wrapped with a glassine paper. Once you uncover the planner, you'll see the the hard-bound writing material with the cover design (your pick among the four choices) and a the words "Starbucks Coffee" in gold color, Times New Roman font format, bulging, manifesting an idea of value and importance.

Unlike the usual planners we use to see and buy in bookstores and writing-related shops, the Starbucks planner 2010 has its writing area horizontal in form. I really like it. It makes the user/ owner of the planner write quickly, easily and more organized. Every end of a month is marked with two pages designed to showcase some information and pictures about the history, products, vision, costumers, charitable works, partners and more about Starbucks Company.

At the back part, you'll see a small pouch intended for leaflet and paper slips container. What's good about this is that this pouch isn't empty when you first see it. It holds some folds of freebies and discount coupons. It's really amazing. The planner has its bookmark a new look. It's in a form of a single coffee bean with the characters: STARBUCKS 2010 embossed. You could smell a bit of coffee aroma when you flip the pages altogether. I love it!

Am I successful in convincing you to avail the Limited Edition Starbucks Coffee Planner 2010? I hope I am. God Speed!

Starbucks Christmas Traditions 2009

WISH FOR JOYOUS TRADITIONS

Photobucket

Hello coffee folk!

Time flies so fast. November days are over. We are now in December- the most awaited month of the year. The month were Christmas eve is slated and for that, great preparations should be made. Preparations -may it be emotionally, physically and mentally. Today I won't be stressing any of those. What we will be talking about is about Starbucks Christmas Traditions 2009.

Christmas day is so near. Malls will have their year-end sales, schools program Christmas-related activities, television shows launch Christmas oriented station ids and movie shows, friends begin exchanging gifts and cards, and of course, most people would attend parties celebrating the joy of our Savior's birth. Okay- I think I'm going to far --As practiced annually in the start of Yuletide Season, Starbucks Company unites with the people who heartily welcomes the coming of Jesus Christ. In line with this, they launched the Starbucks Christmas Traditions a few years ago. How is it done? Here...

People who purchase Starbucks products will be given a red card. These red cards contain illustrations of small squares having some Christmas details and stuff that make it look good. The squares drawings/illustrations will be covered with a sticker of its size every time the costumer/owner of the card buys a product. A product is equivalent to one sticker. A red card contains a certain number of small illustrated squares.

Everything I cited in the paragraph above alters yearly. It may or may not be that every product of Starbucks Company equates to one sticker and it may or may not be that there is a consistent number of small illustrated squares [which corresponds to the number of products you need to purchase].

THIS YEAR, you need not to drown yourself with 24 drinks unlike last last year's. The owner/holder of the red card is only required to accumulate a total of seventeen (17) stickers:

NINE [9] of any of the Starbucks Featured Beverages
EIGHT [8] of any Starbucks beverage of your choice EXCEPT bottled
drinks, bottled water and fruit juices

STARBUCKS FEATURED BEVERAGES
Toffee Nut Latte (hot, iced or Frappuccino®blended beverages)
Dark Cherry Mocha (hot, iced or Frappuccino®blended beverages)
Peppermint Mocha hot, iced or Frappuccino®blended beverages

Promotion starts on November 4 ,2009. Stickers may be obtained from November 4 ,2009 to January 6, ,2010 Redemption of the Limited Edition Starbucks Coffee 2010 Planner starts November 4 ,2009 to January 6, ,2009, at all Starbucks stores in the Philippines only.

Make-Over: Friendster

The New FRIENDSTER

Just about a while ago, I was happily reading newspapers over a cup of Frappucino in Starbucks 1 at SM City Cebu, with my co-Starbucks Patrons, one of them- good pal Sinjin spoke to me as he browsed his way in the cyber world through his fingers that were crawling and sliding on his laptop's mousepad / fingerpad. He was in a reaction that looked sort of nagging while showing me a grin.

Sinjin: "Hala bag.o na lagi ang friendster." He exclaimed.
"Ka igat pud ani'g itsura ui." He added.

(Whoa! Friendster has a new look!)
(It look so feminine.)

I chuckled and placed down the newspaper I held then hurriedly stood up as I said "Noh? Asa daw?" (Really? Let me see.) He maneuvered his loppy a little bit to the right and showed me a green-colored layout website.

I laughed and said
"Friendster na? Ngiga gud!" (Is that really friendster? It's so different XD)
and laughed again.
"Kuyawa ah!" (That's really way different).
I added in a joking manner.

Sinjin browsed a few pages of the newly updated Friendster Social Website and said:

Sinjin: "Mura na siya ug Facebook."
(It looks the same with Facebook)

Angeli [ME]: "Ahahah! Nice!" I smiled to his gray laptop.

Sinjin: "Laina uy. Pangbabay ang itsura"
(I don't appreaciate it. It's appearance looks too girly.)

Angeli [ME]: "O see? Ana bitaw ko nimo nga musikat pa na balik ang Friendster!"
(See? I told you Friendster will be famous once more!)
I explained happily.

Sinjin: "Maghimo lang gud balik"
(Signing up is easy as blogging :P)

I laughed and agreed to the nagging person [Peace out Sinj! Nyahaha! ]. I paced a few steps towards my seat and laid my back thinking of how awful Friendster's new theme look. Nyahhah! On the second thought, it's new set of features might impress me and overpower my negative notion about the look most especially in the main/ access page.

FRIENDSTER'S MAKE-OVER OVERDO?

Here is a little glimpse of Friendster's new look. I won't be showing you the entire appearance of the website on the main page without the access box. I want you to see it for yourself :P

Friendster's new look seem to be that it's made for girl use. Aahhaha! It would be ironic if that's true. Let's see- an old co-ed social website undergoes a total make-over then turns into an online abode intentionally made for females? I don't think so XD

I have heard and known several fusses and grumbles against the new look of one of Asia's top ten famous and highly numbered users social networking websites in the internet this year. 20+ and counting :)) It's expected to hear more complains about Friendster's new look beginning tomorrow.

The logo looks too girly. Boys who'll be seeing this for the first time can possibly be discouraged in using his account again :)) Girls wouldn't want that to happen, for sure.

Look at my profile picture. Under it are text links. If you ever have a Multiply account, you're probably be doubting that the layout is familiar. Moreover, if you have a Facebook account, there will be no second thoughts in interrogating your mind if the center column of FS is familiar too.

Profile view still looks the same as of the previous look except that the website's menu bar is colored green, the logo still is two thumbs down and hhmm.. what more.. there are new menus! Introducing GIFTS and FUN Menu!

You can find a new box in your profile named Treasure Chest which I have no idea what's it about. Another new box too is named as Profile Progress. Ugh! What is this site? It's turning into a who-gains-too-many friends contest! I don't like that.

I love plurking. I don't mind about my Karma but seeing it raise feels good. However I don't do anything in purpose to lift the number up. If FS is going to pursue it's posting of such box, people will continue adding accounts they don't even have idea who owns it just to raise their number of friends without even bothering socializing for even a sentence or two. Oh! The irony!

Above is the view of the FRIENDS menu. Yes. Looks organized. Better than before. Larger profile pictures- good. Birthdays, Fan Profiles, Bookmarks and Featured Friends- all present except for one... AHA! Recently added friends if out in the list. Tsk. Tsk. Tsk.

GIFTS is the next menu as shown above. In this case, I like friendster. Bwaahahah! I like this section. I swear :)) but me liking this menu doesn't low down my negative ideas about the other pages.

But of course! Friendster doesn't want to be in the last place of the line! They have games too! If others have, then so they do too. Ahahah! Last but not the least, FUN menu. I like this section too. Aahha! Games, Blogs, Groups, Apps and many more are found here.

There are lots of new things to talk about the new things of Friendster and so far, we I've talked about the half of it. Ehehhe. You can change the color of your FS Menu bar, the received messages box looks so cute, the there is a new perk which is called Wallet (refer to picture above) and many more.

To top everything up, FS's new look is not in favor for most reviewers, however- it could change it they alter it's new logo design and the access page's appearance. I say, I'll stick to Facebook.
